Blown head gasket 292
 

I had an overheating problem and have blown the headgasket.
Can I expect any other damage as a result of the overheating?
Some engines just cannot take a single overheat, such as aluminium heads.

your probably fine. Take the head to a machine shop and have it pressure checked and resurfaced and if all checks out ok put it back together. did you find the source of the overheating?

So far I have not found the leak. I will pressure test it before I pull it apart.
I suspect the waterpump.

As an aside I picked up a new set of extraxtors fot it yesterday $A180 so now I shall fit them during the rebuild.

The head itself needs to be pressure tested to check for cracks.
