How Low can I go?

I have Hedman Full Length headers on my 68. Currently, when I measure from the lowest part of the header reducer flange, I am 8.5 inches from the ground. I am considering lowering the truck but am concerned about dragging or ripping off my headers on a speed bump or something. What is a resonable distance from the flange to the ground?

I went 3.5/5 and I haven't scraped anything yet.

I think the best metric would be this: find out how low you go when bottomed out on your bumpstops and don't go lower than that with the flanges. Or just cut the flanges and weld to get a little more space.
