1980 Sierra Dually
Yes hello everyone im kinda new here i have a few questions
first im going to pick up my single cab dually on saturday so will have pics up shortly after 1st question the truck has a 454 BB with a cracked head or blown head gasket so the owner says here is the thing i got the truck for almost dirt 350$so i was thinking of maybe going either cummins or duramax dont know exactly what gen yet on either one? 2nd where can i find a lift kit for these trucks? ive been looking ALL over and cant seem to find anything 3rd What size tires and wheels should i run? i want to go at least 35's so how much lift do i need? Thanks you for all the replies i go work right now as i work 2nd shift dont get off till 2am im in california |
Re: 1980 Sierra Dually
if you want 35's 4 inch would be fine and a cummins swap would be cool but it's alot of work. remember the tires will stick out past the fenders if you run 35's and i think superlift makes a kit.

Re: 1980 Sierra Dually
Or would a 5.3/4l60 work better? im trying to do a cool build truck you know the truck is currrently 2wd i think ill keep it that way for now then in the future do a solid axle

Re: 1980 Sierra Dually
remember when lifting a dually to lift it a little more than you would a single wheel truck with the same tires. You are going to have to run spacers in between the rear wheels which make them even wider than just the xtra width of the tires. so a little xtra clearance from lift is a good thing for your rear fenders life.
