Tire dealers Please Read

I'm buying some coys wheels for my truck from the states, "I'm in Australia", it is worth me buying tires as well, the guy I'm getting the wheels off is offering me some tires which we're not familiar with down here
they are
255/45/20 Goodyear Eagle RS/A - $160/ea.
255/45/20 General Grabber UHP - $130/ea
Are these tires any good, I don't want a noisey truck tire just something that will give me good milage, ride and performance
the guy is also an agent for Toyo and Nitto

Your input would be greatly appreciated

Let me know how you go Marty,
I tried to buy tyres in last year and it took me 5 weeks... ended up finding a great shop in Brisbane - let me know if you want their number.
I would love to get new rims as well in the future so keen to know your outcome.

the general grabber uhps are a really cool looking tire and they are the best in that class of tire. theyre in a 'performance pick-up' class so i think that they'll deffinatly perform well.

if you google goodyear rsa you can see the tread design. I sell a few of these, and find them to be a good tire at a very good price. Quiet ride

I have found through the years that the reviews/feedback on the Tire Rack (www.tirerack.com) website are a great resource. I have purchased tires based on the feedback on their website, four times now and every time I have been completely satisfied. I believe the Generals typically rate much better than the Goodyears. I just purchased my first set of Generals based on Tire Rack reviews and once again, I am totally satisfied.

Ha Ha not me.. Im riding around on 30%- right now cause I don't want to fork out the $$ for new ones at 1700 a set. Thanks to our loving president raising taxes on all tires last year. My tires went from 1450 a set to 1700-1800.

I bought a Goodyear Eagle RS tire. Size P255/50R-20 It cost me $136.00 at Discount tire. I will use it as a spare tire. If you buy tires from America, and have trouble with them it would cost you a lot of money to have them replaced. You would have to ship them back to where you bought them. Do they sell 20 inch tires in Australia.
What is the top brand tire in Australia?

Discount tire.com has free shipping and good prices, but I don't know if they will ship that far.

How much does it cost to ship? Because if the tires cost 1/4 of what you pay over there I think it would be worth it, even if you had trouble with one it would be cheaper to buy a new one in US and have it shipped over. I really don't know anything about shipping internationally though, so I could be way off. Good luck anyhow!

I run an automotive mechanic shop here and we are goodyear dealers. DO NOT go with the RSA. I can almost guaruntee you wont be happy with the RSA. I cant give you any opinion on the general grabbers but i have a few customers that like them.

You have to have a wholesale account to view those reviews. Also, you are not comparing apples to apples. 3 million miles on the grabbers vs 81 million miles on the RSA's. Come on. Online reviews are extremely biased also. Dont get me wrong, i still dont like RSA's from all my experiences, but i would just take those reviews with a grain of salt.
Still, dont get the RSA's./ ahaha..
