Anyone know when GM started putting a 3rd door in their 3/4 ton 2500 series trucks?

I thought it was with the new body style change in 2000. I know an old 97 that we had didn't have it. Hopefully someone with more definite info will chime in.

I could be wrong, it did happen that one time but I thought it started as an option in '96

I know it did for the 1/2 tons, but did it change the same time for the 3/4 & 1tons?
