Drop Spindle
I am doing a 2.5/4 inch drop on my 71 GMC and need info on drop spindles. Want to use existing brakes, ball joints, tie rods, so:
-Who makes spindles for this criteria? -Which are the best bang for the buck? -Are there any other things to keep in mind? Any insights appreciated. |

I'd like to do the same for my 72

Re: Drop Spindle
pretty much any 71-72 drop spindle will be a direct swap with your stock spindle. I think I paid $225 for mine for my suburban a few years back. I found out about the company through a Local Classic car swap meet.

I agree 100%.........My trucks suspension all came from ECE....:metal: |
Re: Drop Spindle
I bought my dropped spindles from CPP. They are specific for 71-72 (meaning you keep the factory ball joints/tie rod ends). They are made by Western suspension (USA made) and went in flawlessly. Zero complaints.

Re: Drop Spindle
thanks guys. I can't believe they get between $50-60 for shipping. I know these are heavy. Just a cost of doing business I guess.

I used Mcgaughys on mine. No complaints.

The 50.00 or 60.00 shipping charge sounds pretty standard. You need to remember that they are shipping over 50lbs clear across the country to you. |
