Step box channels
I recently picked up a stepbox but it is missing the cross channels. Can I just use full size fleet box wood bed channels and cut them shorter?I thought about a metal floor box but they seem to be welded to the floor.

Can't answer your Q except only on speculation...I would say yes.
Metal floors were never available on the step side beds, but you could always get some diamond plate and bolt it down. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. you can find those cross rails. I got mine from a guy in Okla. named Tom Myers. Don't have the number anymore but u may be able to get it from information. Would be a lot better if you could get these. Chevy Duty and some of the venders probably have them also.

i think the channels can be shortened if you cut them in the center(the outer ends have flanges on them if i'm thinking right.
