Step box channels
 

I recently picked up a stepbox but it is missing the cross channels.Can I just use full size fleet box wood bed channels and cut them shorter?I thought about a metal floor box but they seem to be welded to the floor.

Can't answer your Q except only on speculation...I would say yes.
Metal floors were never available on the step side beds, but you could always get some diamond plate and bolt it down.

you can find those cross rails. I got mine from a guy in Okla. named Tom Myers. Don't have the number anymore but u may be able to get it from information. Would be a lot better if you could get these. Chevy Duty and some of the venders probably have them also.

i think the channels can be shortened if you cut them in the center(the outer ends have flanges on them if i'm thinking right.
