Where to buy parts
W need to track down the fuel neck, fuel door and tray for the sidemarker conversion. We checked all over today and nobody had these parts available. I think the thread says they are off of a 1997 S-10. Anyone know a junk yard that will sell them?

Re: Where to buy parts
Spectra Premium makes OEM replacement filler necks for almost anything. The hard part is they sell wholesale only so you need to find a stocking dealer on line. RockAuto has some of their stuff but not every part they make for every vehicle.
Other than that you're stuck looking for a salvage yard that will either pick it for you or allow you to pick it yourself. |
Re: Where to buy parts
The salvage yards I called yesturday wanted nothing to do with this. I called 4 of them with in a hour radius. I have been having this problem with salvage yards up here. There is one that has a couple sweet 67-72 trucks but they wouldn't even sell a hood pin. Guess they don't need the money. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Where to buy parts
i've never tried shopping for custom stuff on a phone from a junkyard. i go to the yard find what i need to work with and ask how much . this method has worked well for over 45 years

Re: Where to buy parts
I agree with cdowns, you have to go to the local pick a part and walk around and find what you need.

Re: Where to buy parts
Scrap yards here in northern IL are very picky on letting anyone just roam around and look for items. I know of only two that actualIly still let you do that. I checked both and neither have the parts. I gave it a shot and posted the parts I needed on craigslist last night and I think I finally tracked them down.
