Re: original radio
the '60-'63 Chevy truck factory AM radios are the same and the 4-5-6 Chevy truck factory AM radios are the same. The chevy truck radios have CHEVROLET on the face plate and the GMC truck radios have GMC on the face plate. The '60-'63 have different knobs than the '64-'66. The factory knobs were either black (standard) or black/chrome (Custom). I have a few nice factory 4-5-6 Chevy truck AM radios, if you still need one.

Re: original radio
I picked one up on ebay recently for $8 plus shipping! That was a suprise, they tend to go for around $30 or more. This one doesn't work, though, so I'm planning on gutting it and installing an amp to play my ipod through, like a few other folks on here have done.

Mine.
It's the Original Delco AM Radio, and it still works! I never had to touch it. It takes about 1 minute to warm up but she sounds great. All I ever done was to buy a speaker from Radio Shack and put in her, because the original was bad. It's either a Factory or Dealer install. Kinda rare. If anyone is interested in having thier factory radio rebuilt or converted to AM/FM stereo with outputs, try these guys: www.antiqueautomobileradio.com www.bobsradio.com More Stuff: http://www.radiosforoldcars.com/newradio0F.htm http://www.turnswitch.com/radio1.htm http://taymanelectrical.com/ http://www.wonderbarman.com/codes.html http://www.wonderbarman.com/ And don't forget: http://www.chevychevy.com/pages/55_87_Chevy_Truck.htm |
