Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20

Figured I'd start a build thread for the newest truck in the shop. Its going to be a pretty quick build, with ALOT of custom work and parts.

The truck is a 1967 Chevy C20 longbed. The owner is Carl Hanlon, owner of Guilty Customs, who builds custom choppers / bikes. The truck is being built at WellBilt Kustoms, in Southern California.

In just a few short months, the truck will be taken from its current state, to a clean show truck that will carry custom choppers to local meets and shows.

Some plans for the truck are:
-Frame off build
-Everything painted, chromed, or powdercoated
-CPP Aluminum underbed fuel cell
-Rear Air ride suspension with C-Notch
-Boxed rear frame rails
-Shaved roof drip rails, stake pockets, tailgate handle, anteanna hole, door handles, key locks, upper cab line, bumper bolts, gas filler, all side mouldings and badges.
-Grant Kustoms rear rollpan
-Cadillac tail lights
-Suicide driver door
-Shaved firewall with custom front wheel tubs
-Jet black paint, with pearl white top, and Orange pin stripping.
-Custom pin-stripping throughout, guilty logo's incorporated within the paint sceme
-Undercarriage will be all black, with heavy metallic grey for suspension and various parts
-Interior will all be redone with new bench seat, reshaped into buckets, custom center console, dynamat, billet parts.
-Wheels will be orange powdercoated rally's.

Artist rendering: A little has changed since the rendering was done, but basic look is there.

Yeah were excited to do it.

Drivetrain is just a standard chevy small block, with a th350 trans. all paint matched, and chromed out of course.

Cool, I used the same roll pan along with a tailgate skin from Sir Michaels. Nice stuff.
Will you keep the wood bed or switch to metal to better support and hold up to loading/unloading bikes?

How did the tailgate skin fit? I will be shaving off the handle and relocating it to the inside of the gate.

The inside of the bed is still up in the air right now. Tomorrow I will be sitting down with the owner to go over a few subjects, and thats one of them. He's leaning towards a metal floor, but having it look like a wood floor with the stainless strips. And possibly sheetmetaling the sides so it looks flat and smooth.

It fit great and the handle inside works great too. I highly recommend the metal floor. Matter of fact I purchase a metal bed just for that reason. You can see these items in my build.

Thanks for following along with the build guys.

I haven't had time to upload the other pics to my photobucket yet. But I promise I'll get them uploaded today. I'd like to get the thread caught up to where were currently at with it now.

Here are a few more pics for you guys. Keep in mind these are from the past couple weeks. I will try to get you all caught up to where its currently at.

Today we got alot more of the tear down done. The owner stopped by and spent alot of time at the shop here today, and we talked about a few design ideas, and went over ordering more parts. Fun thing about full builds, is it always feels like christmas around the shop with all the parts getting dropped off and delivered. :metal:

Anyways...onto the pics.

Re: Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20

Got alot done this weekend guys. I'm uploading the pictures right now as we speak to my photobucket.

Body is now off of the frame, inside of cab is all stripped, engine and trans is getting pulled tomorrow and sent off to machine shop. Bed, front grill, bumper, core support is getting dropped off at media blasting tomorrow as well. Then, on the way back, I will be stopping off at my metal supply, and picking up ALOT of cold rolled, sheetmetal, and tubing.

Also spent some time with the owner going over the build. Some stuff has changed, and some stuff is still up in the air. Lots and lots of parts got ordered, and should start to trickle in this week. I'll take pictures once something arrives :metal:

Changes to the truck:

-Suiciding both doors now instead of just the driver door.
-We will be reworking the whole dash, and doing something totally custom, but still retro. I don't want to let the cat out of the bag yet about it, but I'll show you a rendering of what we plan on doing along with the custom center console soon.
-Bed is going to be custom sheetmetal'd on the sides, factory looking floor with stainless strips, only not using wood, using metal plates, and custom swing out tail gate.
-3rd brake light will be totally custom made lense, backed by a series of L.E.D. bulbs.
-Hood hinges are going to be custom fabbed, and mounted to the firewall, so it looks more streamlined, and doesn't block your view of the engine bay from the side.
-Seats will be buckets instead of the reshaped and covered bench

Hey guys, been really busy with the truck lately, and my 6 month old spent two days in the hospital, so I appologize for not updating the thread. Tomorrow I'll post up some more pictures, and show you guys how the truck looks now. Basically the frame with engine and trans is sitting in the shop, and the cab is lifted up on my car lift.

BUT....Few more parts showed up for this build today:lol:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0/DSCN4570.jpg

Were still missing alot of stuff, should get delivered this week. I'll post up individual parts pics and descriptions tomorrow. Just thought I'd leave you guys with a teaser pic before bed.:smoke:

Re: Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20

Well guy's...alot has been going on with the build. still ordering and picking up parts, taking stuff to sandblasting, and dropping stuff off at powder coating.

We have the frame and suspension parts back from blasting, and I'm starting to box in the trailing arms. Also were still going at it with the cab.

I'll post up pictures today of whats going on. Now that stuff is prepped for fabrication, and we have almost all the parts we need, the cool and fun stuff will start happening now!
