Rear wheel well fabrication.....
I'd like to do what my Body guy suggested, and get another set of Rear Wheel Wells and Cut and weld in another pair so I can run like a 15X10 Wheel with a BIG Mickey Thomson Tire in the Rear.
I've always loved "Fat Meats" and/or a Tubbed Rear End look!!!! (DISCLAIMER: Those of you OVER 38 years old, should know what "Meats" are). I'm wondering if anyone has done this Specific Mod and how it worked for you? I for one am not worried at all about the space I'd loose in the bed and because it's Lowered, I don't realy Haul anything around. Pictures/Stories/Do'd&Dont's would be GREATLY appreeciated. |
Re: Rear wheel well fabrication.....
67cheby has some pics of his in the projects area under the name raising the bed floor. I believe that he widened his as well. Also, look at some of the other projects/builds on the project site. That should be a build that you can find on there.

This also is what I was thinking of doing, going with a Bed Liner or Zilitone in the Bed of MY Truck. YOURS looks closer to what I want MINE to look like as opposed to the Orange Truck. (I just need his Tires)!!! |
Re: Rear wheel well fabrication.....
Here is mine:
http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSCN2053.jpg I screwed the tubes to a table to keep them from moving and warping. Cut 1 3/4" out of sheet metal and screwed it to the out side of the wells to make the shape with the roll. The one on the left is stock, one on the right has been cut and welded back together. These But Weld Clamps from Eastwood work real well, make things alot easier: http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSCN2052.jpg Here is the finished product: http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSCN2122.jpg |
