WTB- sm465 4x4 shifter
 

Guys, I am needing help locating a sm465 4x4 shifter. Chrome is preferred, but will take a black one. I know where one is at in a yard, but we keep getting pounded with snow every other day it seems like. Anyone have one they are willing to let go? It looks like this one labeled sm465 4x4 in the pic:

I have a chrome sm465 4x4 shifter out of a 85-87' 4x4 that I can trade as well for this shifter. That would look good in a CST 2wd or Cheyenne Super 2wd with manual shift. Trevor

I'm pretty sure I have a driver quality black one in the parts bin....I'll check tomorrow and let you know for sure.

Trevor I am not really up on 4x4 stuff. We have two complete drive trains out of a 70 4x4 4sp, do you know if that would work? If dieseleater does not have one let me know if ours might work. Paul

Paul, I will let you know after hearing back from Diesel Eater. The 70' should work as that what I plan on putting it back into. They had a later model sm465 shifter in it when we picked the truck up. Just trying to go back to the correct shifter. All 4x4 ones should be the same throughout our years. Trevor

Paul, if Trevor passes on one of the ones you offered I would be interested as I am in the same spot as he is, sm465 in 4x4 with a later handle in it. Please let me know, thanks Harold

Well, I checked it out and it is the Double bent type that you have marked as 2wd in your pic. It is 19 inches long and has a worn out knob on it. If it makes any difference, I have the same exact type shifter in my 69 4X4 pulling truck and it works fine.

I guess you are looking for correct style for your truck though....

I had a 4X4 shifter in my 2WD and it would hit the dash in 3rd gear - I traded somebody on the board for a 2WD shifter. Good luck with your search.
