my new 1970 GMC; how'd I do!

Bought this off the second owner who bought it in December of 09 (yes; 3 months) and couldn't keep it. 307 sbc, 3 speed auto. The hubcaps have to go, so does the bed liner, but the bed floor is beyond shot. Cab Floor and rockers really look decent with just a bit of rust. Some rust starting above the windshield too, and typical inner fender rot under the battery. It's super complete and super clean for around here. I'm gonna drive it while I do more work on my 4x4. I paid $3k and drove it 2.5 hours at 65 home; how'd I do?

Other than the rust issues, looks like a good buy. That's what's gonna cost you the most to fix.

On a related note, if caprice hubcaps fit the stock wheels, does this mean that gmc wheelcovers generally fit any 15" steel rim?

thanks for all the comments. I may have found a texas bed local for $250. May swap bedsides and be in business. Also looking for something better on the rims. I would alos like to know about the hubcaps.

Well, being that these are 15" rims, i'm almost positive they are Caprice wheelcovers. i was just curious about the interchangeabilty of truck and car hubcaps and it appears that they are pretty interchangable. i thought that truck and car rims are different, but as far as 1/2 tons and cars probably not.

Maybe 3/4 ton and above are different from cars.

It was a fair price only if the fuzzy dice were included.

I remember seeing this truck posted on ebay by the original seller back in Dec. Very nice truck! Glad to see another 70 GMC on the site. Thanks for sharing.

A 15" hubcap is pretty much a 15" hubcap. There may be a few exceptions like certain hubcaps may not fit the 15" FWD Toranado wheels because of the wheel backspacing.
