??? rare fleetside long wheelbase PU ???

I was checking for a few truck prices and thought someone might appreciate this one. All for only 15K.

:D
WOW!! That's a steal for such a "rare" truck in such pristine condition!

toms68cst 01-30-2003 05:19 PM

I think the decimal point is in the wrong place.

crazy longhorn 01-30-2003 05:21 PM

It could be rare.....the auto trans might be "bleeding":D

Scottri 01-30-2003 06:25 PM

Cool! I thought mine was pretty common but since it's "rare" I'm really in love with it now.

70cst10_05 01-30-2003 06:28 PM

hell, my truck used to look just like that and if it "was" worth that much, then damn im gonna make a fortune when i get done with it, haha.

What is that guy smoking?

COBALT 01-30-2003 06:51 PM

He's smoking the same stuff a lot of Washington people with their father's or uncle's chevy truck are smoking. I can't tell you how many times I've run into some bonehead who thinks his dad's beat-up '70 LWB is so rare they can't part with it for less than $4000.

Just laugh and move on to the next truck.

Car Collector also has a TON of crap for sale on it too. It seems to be a junk yard for overpriced rustbuckets.

gashog 01-30-2003 06:56 PM

and it looks like it may even have the rare ventalated rocker panels. :D :D

3damnboyz 01-30-2003 07:06 PM

dont knock those rockers, i bet he spent 25-30 years on the rust belt waiting list for those rare beauties

68 Stepside 01-30-2003 07:46 PM

good lord, I hope that ad's a joke.

Judging by the amount of mold on the topper, it appears that it was just drug out of the woods. Probably with the aid of a tractor. Keep shopping.....

Ha Ha Ha

You let ANYTHING sit outside in Western Washington for more than 3 weeks and you'll start to grow mold or moss, or mushrooms on it.

3 weeks??? That thing has been in the woods for 3 years. Take a look at the rust on the upper drip rails. Keep Shoppin'.

1974ChevyC10 01-30-2003 11:44 PM

wow if he can get 15K for that then my truck is worth 20K-yeah right.i think 500 dollars is a fair asking price for it considering the condition

Longhorn Man 01-30-2003 11:48 PM

Geee, I wish i had a rare LWB truck.

You fully underestimate the power of 45 constant degrees and rain EVERY DAY between november and april !!!!!! Ive seen brand new cars develop NW rot in their first year.

Hooter 01-31-2003 03:28 AM

The only way I can see it being rare is if the motor doesnt leak oil, now that's rare!

texparts 01-31-2003 09:30 AM

truck

gosh i am sitting on a gold mind i have about 20 of the rare lwb trucks .LOL

Randy70C-10 01-31-2003 09:41 AM

But it has the original paint job. (Looks like it still has all of the original sheetmetal too). :D

71GMC_3/4T 01-31-2003 11:30 AM

Randy, I wouldn't say *all* of the original sheet metal. I think some of it has parted ways in the form of rust...

yellowgmc 01-31-2003 11:41 AM

it's the rare drag racing version. the rust is actually planned to lighten the vehicle. i have one too!

Bob Chayer 01-31-2003 12:25 PM

I just did an inventory of my garage and back yard. Going by this guy's numbers I figure $100,000.00 will take it all. I'll even throw in the garage for free!. Any takers?!?

chaptr2 01-31-2003 12:29 PM

MikeP hit it on the nose. There is a 99 astro van at my work that has been sitting for a couple of weeks and is covered in moss. If you don't drive it in this weather make sure it is covered up. I had a car that sat outside this time of year for one month and grew a patch of mushrooms on the rear floor mat.

COBALT 01-31-2003 03:13 PM

mikep and chaptr2 are DEAD ON correct. Moisture in this town is a huge problem. I'm forced to keep my truck parked outside, and it drives me crazy. I know it's not helping my rust problem at all.
