do i need carpet pad?
do i need the carpet pad/insullation piece if im running hushmat?
|
Re: do i need carpet pad?
Tim, I have been wondering the same thing, is the Hushmat thin like Dynomat?
I think the padding would help thermally, not just sound. I think you would need the carpet padding still as it has a thickness that the carpet has been cut to fit with. My personal opinion would be to try yo use it, but definitely calls for a trial fit first. |
Re: do i need carpet pad?

Re: do i need carpet pad?
i've always like the look and feel of having the extra padding under a carpet

Re: do i need carpet pad?
Don't the replacement molded carpet sets come with the jute insulation backing attached?
|
Re: do i need carpet pad?
when I ordered my carpet it came with the jute insulation already on the back of the carpet.

Re: do i need carpet pad?
i bought original carpet that was in great condition from a board member off here and he said the padding wasnt all that great so he took it off

Re: do i need carpet pad?
I did padding and molded carpet on top of sound deadening, it is plush and squishy, but absolutely not necessary...
