Project Shop Truck
So the planned uses for this truck are this: pull a car trailer occasionally, haul parts, and general work truck duties.
With that in mind I started with a 1969 swb C10 frame. Today we scraped 40 years of gunk off the frame, pressure washed it, and painted it with chassis black paint. http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...659640x480.jpg http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...663640x480.jpg http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...674640x480.jpg http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...678640x480.jpg Took a spare cab I acquired, and bolted it on with new cab mounts. http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...677640x480.jpg http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...685640x480.jpg http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...684640x480.jpg Painted a 82 C10 front bumper that we had from another build. Decided to go with chrome on a buddy's project. http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...670640x480.jpg http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...683640x480.jpg I'm getting a 67-68 front clip from a board member tomorrow to go on this truck. I'm not sure which bed to use. I have a fleetside and a stepside. Any input would be appreciated. Heres the fleet, it needs some work, as does the stepper. http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...648640x480.jpg |
Re: Project Shop Truck
Took a 305 and TH350 from a 79 C10. The trans had been rebuilt recently (so I was told), and I am rebuilding the 305. Picked up a Weiand intake to go on it. Also got a set of block hugger headers that I may use...we'll see how everything goes.
http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...626640x480.jpg I also found an underdash a/c unit on a recent parts excursion (I also bought a 69 suburban....but that'll be a different thread) http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...579640x480.jpg |
