81-87 4-core radiator conversion

i made a post about this a few years ago, and have since upgraded the website and prices (used to be chevyduty.com)

i'm gonna try and make a sticky out of the part numbers for the 4-row conversion (if the mods allow it, if not, at least this should help some people wanting to do this one way or another)..in the mean time, here's all the info:

all my stuff, i bought from www.classicparts.com, so these are there part #'s:

78-772 radiator rubber isolators (ya need 4) $6.95 apiece
78-845 top radiator cover $29.95
78-955 4-core 1 piece fan shroud $57.95

433730-4 core radiator auto zone part #, $174.99
(GM made a few different sizes of 4 core radiators, but this particular one works perfect with the part numbers above)

the top rad cover mounts to the rad support, and the shroud holding it in place, everything else, bolts, clips ya just re-use from your stock set up

I've got some pics from when I changed out my suburban front clip. I wouldn't say they are step by step though. let me know what you need.

The 78-845 PN# is no good anymore seems.

I got a nos one from G.M. a year ago PN#14018600.
I am guessing that Classic Parts sold the G.M. one also and looks like they may be discontinued.

If this helps any here is a pic of the upper radiator mount that I got from a Chevy Dealer when I did the 4 core swap. I ran it without the shroud and never had a problem overheating, even in 100* summers.

Thats the one I got also but G.M. has discontinued it seems. and the part bigarmzz listed 78-845 is no longer available from Classic Parts. Coincidence? I don''t think so I believe Classic Parts sold the G.M. one also.

Yes that is the one I got it was only available aftermarket.I was referring to the upper radiator mount in pic above. The number you listed 78-845 is no longer available from Classic Parts. Look for your self.

Classic Parts doesn't list one for BB's anymore seems.

Brother's list one PN# RSC8701.
