sounds interesting. I think I might try it with some rusty bolts just to see if it works. I've already got a 9A 12V power supply collecting dust, Might as well give it a shot:confused: :)

Like the guy said I have seen it used to clean old cannons and other metal parts from old ship wrecks.But any time I have rebuilt an engine the old hot tank and cleaning brushes worked.I liked the part where it says don't blame me if your aluminum melts!!

I used a company(no longer around) that was in the Vadnais Heights area of MN that used this process to strip entire car/truck bodies. I had it done to a 65 Impalla trunk lid. Man was that thing CLEAN. It looked like brand new metal inside and out. They did warn you about potmetal and aluminum. If there were any left on or in the car it would ruin the solution tanks and it would cost you some bucks.

For a body off restoration i would use something like this in a flash if there was somebody around.

Certainly look slike it would be less destructive than some forms of metal cleaning and rust removal. I still swear by a 55 gallon PLASTIC drum filled with 25% Phosphoric acid , a cup of detergent and the balance water. Nothing removes rust better and gets down to the bare metal. Leave anything in too long and you'll wonder where it went but a half a days soak will remove even the worst rust scale off stuff you thought was trash.
