Brake line issues
 

Here is the problem. 1979 swb passenger front wheel. the existing brake line comes off the caliper and has a 90 degree bend striaght towards the frame. The new one I picked up at the auto place has a slight angle on it and it bends straight INTO the ball joint. The auto place has looked at other years and other brands, but they all have that slight angle to it. no pics because he has my old line. the angle is the banjo fitting on the line lookes like it is twisted. am I missing something? I put drop spindles on it, but that should not have an effect on the caliper locations. anyways the new one does not match the old one and the old one will fit the new set up. what have you guys seen. the lines are raybestos

I had sort of the same issue when I put the drop spindles and new brakes (calipers, rotors, bearing, and, yes, new brake lines) on my truck. I did some very careful bending and got it to work. I would just tell you to go very slow. I tried a couple of different lines before settling on doing this, but I have not had any issues since the "mod".

I don't understand why the lines are different. The one I pulled off fit perfect, bending straight towards the frame. The auto place is still digging around to see if he can find a similar one to my truck that might work, if not I will try bending it.

I ran into this last summer. There was a bunch of parts that said right hand on the box but were made with left hand ends. See if the ne wonle looks like the other side. It took me a couple weeks and a couple tries to get the correct one. All of the low-buck stores in town, and NAPA, had the same problem, it appears that they all have the same hose end supplier and that was where the goof up happened.
