hd leafsprings

those of you that have lowered hd rear leaf setups in the rear. how many leafs did you leave in the rear if you removed some. I still have 5 leafs after removing a couple. can i remove anymore and still be alright? i want like another 1-2 inch drop in the rear. I have a pretty mild 355 in it and when i get on it all it does is spin the tires, so i dont have any axle wrap yet.

I think it depends more which ones you remove. Some of them add to the spring rate quite a bit more than others. Seemed like the ones up near the top did less than the ones near the bottom when I took leafs out of mine.

I started with 8, took out the huge overload and one of the upper springs that didn't seem to be doing much and ended up with 6. Does perfectly fine even with the bed filled and it goes over bumps a lot better.

only 3 and a flipkit?? how low did your truck get when you did that? i dont have a flip kit but i want my truck a bit lower, so if i remove 2 more leafs how much drop should i expect?

Well if those 2 leafs are a total of an inch thick, you will get that and then a little more for the reduction of spring. That is my thought anyway.

so if i want like an inch or inch and a half try by removing one at a time? sounds like the right way to do it i just dont like taking things apart more then i have to.
