brake hose?
 

Well I found out my pads weren't the source of my braking problem... turns out the passenger side hose rotted ... hence no brakes. Ok I call my local parts store (3 different) to find out there is no listing for the hose... Does anyone know what size the lines are on each end and I'll look through their illustrated catalog and find one close. Or if anyone knows a part number that would be even better. I know I can order a pair of them from the vendors on the board... which might be the route I have to take. I just wanted a quicker fix.

I've always been able to get 2wd front brake hoses for 67-70 drum and 71/72 disk direct from NAPA no problem. 71/72 4x4 hoses are available too. Sorry no part # for you though but they should be easy and cheap to get. Somebody else must have a part# for ya. Good luck.

You could also try Inlinetube.com as well. They have brake lines and hoses for our trucks.

O'reillys and autozone should carry them...no problem.

The only place I found here in town that carried them was Outback Truck Parts in Spring. None of the auto stores around here carry the correst ones for our trucks.

Napa was a bust... O'Reilly nope and Autozone will probably tell me that Chevrolet didn't make trucks in 71...and I am not going to give any more of my Money to Roger at Outback Truck parts, I have not been pleased with the service or product that I got there. I have part numbers now... but they all say "I can order it"...so can I... for cheaper than they can... so I guess I'll have to wait on it. Thanks for all the input.

Try somebody else at O'reilly as I was able to get the rubber hoses from them for my truck and Jimmy.

I used brake lines for a 70 nova on my truck works great a little longer than stock about 1.5 inchs

I recently got some at both O'Reilly and Autozone for my 69 C10. I had to go to both places because neither place had 4 of them.

I got the ones for my 70 Chevy at Autozone and Advanced Auto. The only problem I had is I had to wait a day on the rear hose. They all had the front one in stock, but no rear. They were about $11. I just looked up on AutoZone and Advanced Auto websites. Very weird I can get all the hoses form my 70 (drums) but both sites do not show a hose available for the 71/72 trucks (discs I presume). If it helps, the hose for my 70 is a TruTorgue Product #H66707 from advanced auto. You might have to deal with LMC or one of the board members.

Oh yeah. they make the rears, but some reason they don't have the fronts for the 71/72 listed.

My truck a 70 with 71 disc spindles and calipers and I used the 69-70 nova hoses like I stated above

The 70 nova line worked. That was the kind of information I was looking for. I see now why they don't make the 71/72 hose. The banjo fitting was bigger than any brake hose I have ever seen. Since I don't care about originality it worked great for me. Thanks a ton. I really missed that truck. I do have a few numbers for the original but no one had them in stock. I had to get a number online from Advance auto parts and cross it at O'reilly. I looked in the Wagner catalog at O'Reilly and it didn't even have a number for it. I won a dollar off the counterman on that one. (but I knew that already, I only bet on sure things).

FYI the Wagner number for the 70 Nova line is F71379

Raybestos for the original is BH380712

the nova line was 14.00 compared to 24 to 28

If you've got a little extra cash, I'd recommend getting some braided stainless steel brake lines to replace the stock rubber hoses. They give a much stiffer brake pedal feel (no flex like rubber hose).
