Here is how I married the original parking brake mechanism to the 2nd gen F-body axle I am using in my 54.

The clevis is crimped/swaged onto the end of a standard F-body brake cable and then attached to the stock cross bar.

The clevis idea was from a friend in Germany who sent me two for my use. He said they were intended for sail boat mast cables. I have not come across this product anywhere else and he has since passed away so I cannot say where he sourced them.

They work great and simplify the whole set up.
