roof swap on a 61?

my 61 has rust above the windshield and needs to replaced.i havent found a repair piece in catlogs,or i have thumbed by it.anyways my truck came with an extra cab with a good roof.has anyone done this swap,what is the easiest way to do it?

LMC sales the patch panel for just over the windshield. 38-7974 is the part number and its like $100.
