Exhaust exits and tips pic needed

Getting ready to have my dual exhaust hung next week, and I'm thinking straight out the back with some straight cut tips. Not 100% sold on this, but interested to see what others have done. Thanks, chris

Mine is tucked up high and tight 2-1/2 it dumps right at the bumper with a slight turndown sounds ok to me I couldnt find a way to go out the side without having them hang low and visible by the leafs

Mine exits out the side, sorry no pictures. I've been told not to exit it straight out the back, it allows fumes in around the tailgate and rear hatch.

Here's an example w/ the exhaust exiting out the sides. No fumes and tucked up nice and tight.

Mine are tucked up and not really visible from the side. I haven't ever had any problems with exhaust fumes inside the truck with the hard top or the soft top on.

Side exhaust equates to fewer fumes. ;)

If yer going offroad don't get turndowns off the mufflers, it's cheeper but the amount of trail dust you stir up is terriable...and yer buddies behind you will hate you hahaha
Straight out the back will cause fume issues when the top is on and back window open or not sealed, even with a soft top yu'll be smellin it..in most cases anyway.
This is my 3rd exhaust route..I gave my hardtop away so I am mostly topless or softtop..

I have a huge gastank so inorder for me to get the tips towards the rear the pipe had to come to the outside of my frame.

Here you can barily see the tip under/behind the bumper. My goal was Max clearance from below..up as high and tight as it could be.

Good Luck

One thing bad about the exaust out the back you cant drive with a soft top with the back window open it sucks the fumes right in. So you cant get a screen for the back window the new softtoper has zip out screen

When I got my Blazer the exhaust exited straight out the back, the first change I made was turning them out the side, I had fumes coming in very bad! It's better now but I still have some sealing issues. I would not recommend exiting the exhaust out the back.

Well I crawled under her today to see what looked best. 2wd with a 4/6 drop doesn't leave much room. I have a half cab, but usually run it topless. I'm going to put a ECE trailing arm crossmember in it this week to get some drive shaft clearance and run the exhaust through. thinking I might try to put the mufflers where the stock one was and dump behind the rear tire. Once it gets on the lift at the muffler shop it will be easier to determine. Like I said not much room under there. 2 flow masters are going to be a tight fit. Thanks for all the info.

Out the side angled to the back and so far I'm not sucking fumes. The old exhaust was straight out the back and the fumes were terrible!
