Easy Hood Lock
3 Attachment(s)
I kept trying to think of an easy an inconspicous way to lock my hood when I have it sitting somewhere. I thought of a pad lock since it is inexpensive and easy to store when not in use. I didn't really want another cable from inside running thru the firewall. I came up with this. You can't see it until you put a lock on it and I know nothing will prevent a determined thief. I have a security system with a siren and a hood switch and door switches but this is just one more thing to slow them down. I made the parts from .090" thick steel and cut to fit. I drilled a 9/32 hole thru the 2 pieces. That should be a heavy enough lock.

Re: Easy Hood Lock
I like it, very good idea.
I have also been thinking of a way to lock my hood in a way that won't take away from the factory original apperance. Are you going to make some, and put em up for sale? |
Re: Easy Hood Lock
That there is good ol' "Yankee ingenuity."

Re: Easy Hood Lock
I don't have time to build them for sale, sorry. We're getting ready to hitch the `70 to the toyhauler and head out west for a month or so. We finally have time (both retired) so it's not a 2 week hurry up deal like we've always had to do before.
