i never knew there was any difference in the Parking Brake/E-Brakes from any of these trucks.

In a 67 the e-brake is a hand pull type thing with a lever/trigger you pull to release it. In later models, the e-brake is a pedal, released with a pull/T-handle. I was looking into it, too. I don't have either, but my truck is a 67 so it should have the hand brake. Can't wait to hear the replies.

I recall Wes doing this on his . I think he has a how-to on his web site, the firewall is different on the driver side as far as mounting etc.

Re: 72 ebrake in a 67

my67chevytruck is correct, I have taken the 67 hand brake out of my 67 panel and welded in a section from a 69-72 cab to mount the foot brake. It's a bunch of work, but it gets the results I wanted so it was worth it to me.
To be clear, the 67 and 68 have hand pull brakes. Id you want to install a foot brake you will have to do what I did on my panel. (that is if you want it to look factory)
If you are wanting a hand brake in your 69-72 all you would need to make that swap is the hand pull assembly and 67/68 front parking brake cable. You would then have to cut a rectangular hole toward the bottom of the firewall to allow the cable to pass through it like the 67/68s do. WES

Well...

If anyone is seriously looking at this, I'd be willing to arrange a trade... I have a 72 GMC with the foot brake and have been keeping an eye on the board for someone selling a hand brake...

Hell, if someone is serious, I'd even be willing to section that piece of firewall in the deal too if things worked out right.

Here's the way I did it on my 68....swapped to a 72 cab :D

This by no means is the reason why I swapped, but it was an added bonus.

Re: 72 ebrake in a 67

I put the foot brake on my 68 because the cab is chopped and I needed the leg room. Sold the hand brake on ebay. Besides, I think the foot brake is more natural a motion when I park.
