67 c-20 in Nebraska
Hi everyone, I'm obviously new here but been reading the forum on occasion for a few years. I have a 67 c-20, its been in the family for a while now. When I was born 25 years ago I rode home from the hospital in this truck. Its since become my truck and I building it up to drive at my wedding in a little over a year. I'm gonna need some help from the folks that have been there and done that.
Thanks for the awesome forum |

Re: 67 c-20 in Nebraska
Hey thanks for the warm welcome! Not the greatest pics, but I'm always happy to show.
The truck, I like the small back window, don't see them around here http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/y...3-15165807.jpg The interior, my dad had the glove box and ash tray custom painted by a friend of his in phoenix. http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/y...3-15170121.jpg The roof, unfortunately someone drilled a hole for a cb antenna, the antenna was removed but the hole was never filled. Its rusted pretty good, I filled it but im afraid it will need replaced. http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/y...3-15170227.jpg This is where it sits now, the hood is comming off thursday, I got a friend bringing an engine hoist this weekend. I broke a connecting rod in the 350 so its going through a complete overhaul. The top end was just rebuilt 2 or 3 years ago, but the bottom end hasn't been touched since my old man built it in the late 80s. http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/y...3-20142555.jpg |

Re: 67 c-20 in Nebraska
Thanks monte...
Got the engine pulled and stripped yesterday. Turns out there were no broke connecting rods. I did finally answer that age old question I know we all have muttered to ourselves "What's that noise coming from?" I lost all my main cap bearings and 5 or 6 rod bearings. The knock I placed on a broke connecting rod was actually where one connecting rod wore a 1/8" groove into the crank. Cylenders don't seem too scared up but I want to make sure they are still round. Good news is the block is only .020 over so there is still room to bore. |
