Why I love My Chevy

So I'm calling around today to source out a rebuilt power steering gear box for my wife's '92 pathfinder (lots of play):

Aftermarket - $740.00
Dealer - $1100.00

Used ones (not rebuilt) with a 90 warantee run about $250 to $500.

Keep in mind these are Canadian dollars, but still........

Man I love my Chevy :D :D

I hear that. My chevy cost me almost nothing but gas to keep on the road. i have lifetime warranty on almost everything and rarely have problems with the lifetime equipment. I love my chevy too!

Amen, brother!!

Low87 02-06-2003 04:07 PM

Another Amen. I'm driving my first and last Chrysler (Sebring). Had to replace the brake light switch under the pedal, the part alone was $85. I took it in for a tune up (have to remove the manifold, etc to get to rear plugs), that cost $600. Every Chrysler part is expensive as hell and has to be ordered. Next daily driver will be a Tahoe.

Greg,

I doubt a Tahoe will be any cheaper. Any of these new fangled vehicles are going to be costly to repair. 99.9% of the stuff, we can't do ourselves, so they got us by the ba**s on a downhill drag. :)

I agree, the pathfinder also has also developed a slow idle problem (450 to 500 rpm). Since the electronically controlled idle speed is not supposed to need adjusting, I'll likely have to take it to a shop to have them test it to find the problem. Possible some kind of air supply  which could cost around $500 to replace.

Older + Simpler = Cheaper = :D

Low87 02-06-2003 05:41 PM

Okay Mike, how about building me a retrofitted 73-87 Blazer? :D

Hey Low87, I love your avatar!

"You've got two halves of a coconut, and you're banging them together!" (in a British accent of course)

Low87 02-07-2003 03:02 PM

I'm going to have to watch it again soon. Arveetek got lots of cool points though, most people (Gene!) are like "what's on your avatar?"

Zilverado 02-07-2003 03:16 PM

Okay, since my post has been hijacked, how about I give my $.02. :D

Again in an English accent....(the holy hand grenade):

"First you pull the pin and count to thrrrree, not to two, and not to fourrrr..........Five is rrrright out....."

My personal favorite.

And then there's....

"I'm not dead - - yes, you are - - but I'm feeling fine - - you'll be dead in a minute - - - Bring out your dead!!!"

Oh yes!

And don't forget another memorable moment in the film when the knights were fighting:

Knight 1: "Where are you going? Come back here! I'm not finished with you!"

Knight 2: "But I've cut your arms and legs off!"

Knight 1: "It's not that bad....'tis just a flesh wound!"

Knight 2: "What are you going to do? Nudge me to death?"

:D

79BIG10 02-07-2003 07:24 PM

c10scotty 02-07-2003 11:05 PM
