need advice

I'm building my step for a street strip use. I dont know what to do about the rear suspension. i dont want to notch the frame but i do want it a little lower. no flip or that sort of thing. was thinking about going with a ladder bar, to be able to hook at the track. but plans are for a twin turbo 383 so wasn't sure if that would hold up. i'm not sure if i'm leaving any information out. so let me know.

You can run a shackle and hanger in the rear and won't need a notch. I would consider Cal-Tracs with the stock leaf set up for traction issues.

thank you. do those work kinda like a ladder bar, or traction bar? i looked at them but couldn't really figure out what they do, or where they go.

never mind found website. one other question if i do do a rear flip would i have to notch the frame or can i get away with out it. its a heavy half i believe if that matters. I'll be sending it to get powder coated soon and dont want to have to have that redone later. so if i have to do any suspension mods i'd like to do them now.

Another option would be to go to a trailing arm setup with coil springs or bags like the older trucks have (I assume by your user name, this is a '79 truck)

well i cant do any air suspension. the drag track wont allow it. so i need somewhat original suspension. and yes 79/74 stepside.

Unless there are rules against C-notching the frame I would do it. You can get by with out one on a flip kit, but it's going to be tight.
