Pic Request: Dark Blue [Code 523] Trucks and Interiors
 

I will be painting my blazer project back to the original 523 Dark Blue shade and I am wondering what color I wanted to do the interior - not sure I want to go with blue yet (I was throwing around the idea of black).

I would like to see pix of the 523 Dark Blue trucks/blazers/etc. that have this color on it - and a shot of the interior if you have one/two.

Medium Blue, w/ bright blue interior. That's that only shade of blue interior color that I am aware of for the 71-72's. 69' had a Navy Blue.

Id really like the color of this 2nd picture...maybe its a medium blue ??

My 69 has the navy blue interior not sure if thats the color your looking for but I can try and get pics this weekend.

Was the only option on Dark Blue trucks the [light or dark] blue interior?

Bright Blue, 1st pic, is the only shade of blue that you could get in 71-72 as far as I am aware of. In 1969, you could get a Navy blue type of vinyl, but I believe it was only 69' for that color. Trevor

I believe my 69 had that interior setup. The door panels, headliner and dash pad were all a navy blue. The seat has dark blue around the edges and the part where you actually sit is a lighter blue. I am a fan of the bright blue interior more than this one. I think that I will go with the 71-72 blue when I do the interior in my truck rather than the 69 setup.

My truck has the same dark blue around the edges and light blue in the seat part. I have been having trouble finding dark blue parts so I'm seeing a lot of dark blue dye in my future:lol:

Here are some pics of my interior, and the stake pocket covers I purchased from Mar-K. I painted them, and the door panels, speaker kick panels, visors, and the headliner with Plasti-Kote, 513 dark blue vinyl paint. It is pretty close to an exact match to factory dark blue, code 523. Although intended for vinyl, it has stood up to the elements on the steel stake pocket covers. The only wear is on the arm rests because of daily driver use.

I also painted face plate on my aftermarket stereo to blend in with the dash. Although this is not the factory correct color for the interior pieces, I feel it looks better with the dark blue trucks. The correct bright blue interior looks the best IMO with the factory med blue paint, as in Trevor's example.

I wanted to see what my options were - I like the blended look with the plasti-kote.

Ok guys... not to take away from your poste lks dcvn... but where are you finding the Plastikote paint? I've been looking for a specific color but can't locate any in town.

Not many vendors carry Plastikote, I buy mine at Carquest.

What year Blazer are we talking?`69 had it`s own dark blue paint and interior.Both are Navy Blue.
