Can Someone Help Me Run Some Numbers???

Just got the block cleaned up on my $40 craigslist 305.
All the guy knew about it was that it was out of a mid 1980's chevy pickup.
So I was wondering if any of ya'll could help me out by runnin a few numbers for me real fast?

Front Deck- V1026FCN, also had a another number stamped below it that looked to me as if someone could have hand stamped it on the assembly line that reads- CEJ119190

Rear Deck- GM 5.0 LG/ 14010201

Also the driver's side head had these numbers also- 1402260 w/ X32 underneath it, pardon my stupidity on the matter of engines and rebuilding them, but I'm just a Freshman in HighSchool trying to build a budget mildly modifyed sbc that gets good MPG's

Thanks, Bryant

Re: Can Someone Help Me Run Some Numbers???

Culled from Mortec.com and my handy MSA number guides:

14010201--305, 80-85, 2-bolt main

V--Flint V-8

1026--October 26

FCN--truck, 1984, 305, 150hp, manual trans, LE9 option, 1 4bbl carb, VIN H, 10 & 20 series

14022601--80-86, 267/305, 1.72"/1.5" or 1.84"/1.5" valves, 53cc chambers

Almost forgot the VIN bit. CEJ119190 is a partial VIN from the original truck the engine came from.

CE--(if it was from the era of our trucks, Conventional Cab 2WD, V-8; in the mid-80s, maybe the same thing? I don't know for sure.)

J--Janesville (assembly plant)

119190--19,190th truck produced that year

The LE9 is nothing special. It's a 305 in a pickup. Woo.

The 305 isn't usually hopped-up much because a 350 drops right in. It's better than either a 262 or a 267, but it is what it is: a smogger engine with tiny valves, tiny combustion chambers, thin cylinder walls, and an almost-square bore-to-stroke ratio.

What kind of a mild build were you thinking?

just bore it around 30 or 40 over, w/ flattops, a mild cam, intake, carb, and exhaust, nothing to crazy lol
