Another Okie Bowtie Lover
Been cruising the site for a while, figured I'd finally pop on and start contributing some.
I'm a middle aged truck lover from Owasso Oklahoma. Been in the body shop business most of my life, own my own shop just trying to earn a dollar. I was raised as a GM person, even though my father has switched sides and drives the big bad F words now. I started with an el camino as my first car and have had countless vehicles with a bed ever since. I'm not in to the customs or lowering and such, I guess you'd say I'm a stock kinda guy who does not mind if it's a sleeper. Got a nice 05 Z71 Crew Cab that I bought from a customer who did not want the truck back, he thought it was wrecked to bad. So I got a swinging deal on it and it is my daily driver now. Also have a fairly decent 87 LWB with a 350 that we will probably 'slick up' during a slow spell, if we ever get one. I got it from a guy for $2000 because it was just taking up space in his yard. It had sat for 2 years, I tossed a battery in it, topped off the oil and trans fluid, antifreeze was full still, fired right up and I drove it 30 miles home without any issues. Has each lower cab corner with the cancer, easy fix though. I'm sure I'll toss pictures up in the appropriate forums later. Surely with my years of being in the body shop industry I'll be able to help someone at some time or another. |

Welcome to the boards. It's nice to have you.
If you get a chance check out the Oklahoma section. There is a link to it in my signature. Also looking forward to pics of your trucks. |

The 87. Got all the gauges working, windows working, new radiator installed, smog junk removed and some new cab corners ordered. Slow time of the year is going to be upon us real soon here in the body shop world, should start the slicking up of the body fairly soon.

My younger body man already pounded on one of the dents, his comment was "damn, this has real metal. I need a bigger hammer." This is my 05 Crew Cab, I'll link to the before photos because they are rather large photos. Amazing what a frame machine with 9 ton of pulling power can do. The frame was not replaced, it straightened like a dream, we were all amazed really. I'm in to this truck for about $9,000 and it only has 40k miles on it, clean title. http://hanni.us/Trucks/05%201.JPG http://hanni.us/Trucks/05%202.JPG http://hanni.us/Trucks/05%203.JPG http://hanni.us/Trucks/05%204.JPG http://hanni.us/Trucks/05%205.JPG http://hanni.us/Trucks/05%20b.JPG http://hanni.us/Trucks/05%207.jpg http://hanni.us/Trucks/05%208.jpg |

Nice trucks! Gotta love the metal on the old Chevys, not much tougher than that.
