01 dash lights wont come on
 

i got in my truck tonight (2001 silverado z71) and as i took off i noticed that my radio wasnt lit up but it was still playing just fine and all the buttons worked, then i noticed that the guage lights wernt on. i turned the truck off and put the the key in the on possition with the e barke off, the clock on the radio was on but still no dash lights, when i turn the key to run the clock goes out too. what could be worng, a fuse? dimmer switch?

i did just replace my RF ABS wire and sensor but they worked fine after that.

I had almost the same thing happen on my 02 Burb. I was told by GM that it was the ignition switch inside the column. When it happened to me, I lost dash lights, all my gauges went to zero, and my transmission wouldn't go into overdrive. Apparently theres a power wire running through the ignition switch that powers a whole bunch of stuff. I noticed that it only happened when I moved the tilt steering up and down, and it was an intermittent problem. Thanks for reminding me, I still got to fix that..

Funny you should mention the ABS. I also started having an issue with my ABS about the same time as the other issue.. My issue was the ABS pump continuing to run with or without the vehicle running, so I unplugged the harness off the ABS pump.
