rust repair questions....
i want to start tearing into the rust on my blazer and looking for some advice. I need to replace the rockers of course and whatever rust damage i find underneath. I still have the top bolted on. Once i remove the door, will that be enough to keep the tub from flexing or should some more reinforcement be used? On the passenger side, the door lines up pretty close already (the floor is not rusted out). The drivers side floor and rocker is pretty much gone and the door sags alot. How do you get the tub back to its proper shape? i've also checked out the rocker replacement thread but that for a truck not blazer

Re: rust repair questions....
i have only worked on trucks. i would suggest you browse the project sections, and peruse some of the member restorations, you should learn a great deal by looking and what they have done to repair the same areas in question.

Re: rust repair questions....
I would leave the top on if at all possible, but it is not necessary. The rocker box is probably rusted out leading to the door sag and maybe some body bushing ware also. I would replace all of the body bushings, before I started the rust repair so everything is setting on new bushings when done. WES

Re: rust repair questions....
This is the advice Wes gave me and all is well with the restoration. The parts I got from him fit well and my body guy was impressed.

Re: rust repair questions....
Is there a specific height that the bushing need to be sitting at? I remember when i did my truck there were shims from the factory on top of the bushings.
