What Year Cab ?

I am trying to find out what year cab I have so I can order a windshield and Gasket .. I am planning on a Precision Gasket and either a PPG or Pilkington glass .

What I do know is this :

I have no Vin Plate on door Frame

It does not have a air vent in the door jam.

It does have holes in the roof area above the window for a rear view mirror ,,but not sure if they are factory or not.

It does not have a raised area where these hole are for the rear view mirror.

It has a foot operated E-Brake.

It has a raised area for the gas Peddle,,I have heard that there are two different size raised areas depending on year?

Are there a difference in the size of hole or area of the hole depending if it was a cable throttle or a rod throttle?

If there are other identifying features that you know of that will tell me what year this cab is I would appreciate it.. Gopapa

If you dont have window stainless they should all be the same

Sounds like a 69-70 cab. you said you have foot operated brake, but no raised area (71 only) and since no door vent (started in 71) you must have a 69-70. So you should need the short reach trim molding and gasket.

you said no vin plate, so look and see if you can tell if they were one or two there. 69 was two pieces the one piece started in 70

Make sure you can title a no-VIN vehicle before spending money on it.

I have a title with a vin number on it that matches the vin number on the frame .. good question by the way for some who doesn't have at least what I have.

The Cab has been taken off the frame ,,sanded /repainted . I have looked for welding on the rear side of the door jam around the vin number area and found nothing . another good question .thx

I seen a picture of the difference between 67-68 69-70 71-72 ,,but I cannot find it again and it might just tell it all .. ?

I agree with everything Harold (71 super) said down to the tee. 72 would have the vent in the door jam, 71's only had the raised pad for the rearview mirror, and 67-68 didn't have the floor brake. So yeah, he is right on. Trevor

I came up with this also ,,I figured I have a 69-70 Cab but I do not know what all that was done to the Cab before I got it ..Like filling in holes for the Mirrors on the doors, rear view mirror, vin plate and all the other things that are the differences between the 67-72 cabs..

I already have a SS trim set that is for 72 year ,,If I would of tried putting that in I would of been in big trouble ..All these answers I am getting just reassures me that it is a 69-70 cab. Still would like to know it is a 69 or 70 cab just for knowing .. thanks for the help gp

Are you saying that the 69 has 4 rivets instead of two ?

Re: What Year Cab ?

As long as you have the same molding as the gasket you will be fine. The difference is not the cabs but the reach of the molding. If you are sure you have a 71-72 molding set, get your seld a 71-72 gasket from precision and go to town with the install. Cab has NO bearing on the molding or gasket, but the molding directly affects the gasket and visa-versa- they MUST match or they will not work.

Re: What Year Cab ?

yes they will be 4 holes for two plates, but im not sure how many rivets they put in the single plate.

Re: What Year Cab ?

Sounds like you have the year of the cab figured out. 67-72 all use the same windshield. If you have no stainless they all use the same gasket. If you have 72 stainless just make sure you order the 72 gasket with the stainless grove...you could put this set up in any of our years truck 67-72...You probably have this figured out by now though =)

Oops looks like 71 Super already stated this...I guess Im working at the Dept of redundancy Dept today lol.
