throttle linkage
I was wondering if anyone had some experience in changing their 2barrel carb 283 to a 4barrel edelbrock 350? What will I have to do with the linkage? Do I need to totally change it and the brackets? Thanks

Re: throttle linkage
That should be pretty simple. The throttle linkage is adjustable a certain amount. I don't use Edelbrock carbs, but you might need a bushing to adapt the throttle arm on the carb to the throttle linkage on the truck. You'll need to adjust it so that you have fully open throttle on the carb, when the pedal inside the cab is on the floor. And don't forget to hook up a return spring.

Re: throttle linkage
Sounds good I'm doing the swap later this week hopefully it goes smooth because it's the first time I've done this! I'm jacked up!:metal:

As CaptainFab said- pretty simple.

Re: throttle linkage
You may also need to drill a new hole higher or lower on the arm attached to the firewall, to achieve wide open throttle when the pedal is fully depressed. The location of the hole changes the ratio of pedal travel to carb travel, it's pretty easy to determine what works best.
There are also a variety of aftermarket return spring brackets available should you need to do something different than what you currently have. Here's a shot of mine with the springs running to the rear: http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/2076/linkage.jpg |
Re: throttle linkage
This throttle linkage is a reproduction piece for a 67 Camaro with 396. The front half threads into the back half, so the total length is very adjustable. It works great on my 64 C10.
