ls1 motor mount adapter plates

i'm trying to sloooowly gather up the parts needed to do the swap (someday), so far i have the larger radiator installed, better set of rear gears installed (3:42 posi), and have bought a 91 burb gauge cluster

just wandering if these mounts work? these are the thicker one's

these are the thinner ones:

i was up late a few nights ago ready through all the builds, and someone recommended these, but i'm too lazy to look through all those threads again:lol:

is there any other parts, that you guys have done this already, would recommend stockin up on so i can have everything to do this?

thanks

Re: ls1 motor mount adapter plates

Those mounts will work fine if you're planning to run the 700r4 or 4l60e trans. I ran the th350 with those style of mounts and it moved the motor too far from the trans. I ended up bying the S&P 1" setback adapters for mine. The S&P's made the motor sit up higher and gave me a little more exhaust clearance around the frame and control arm.
Start reading up on how you want to do you accessories if you don't already have them, I think which type you use affects if you can fit A/C equipment easily or not. Alternator wiring needs attention - you may have to run a resistor in the wire going to the plug. If you're gonna use a Th350/400, you may have to change the flexplate and/or get a pilot spacer/adapter(if you don't buy a custom LS1/Th350 torque converter).
You going carbureted or sticking with EFI?

Actually, the top link is the thinner ones (5/16"), Use those. Go back through my build thread. There is a post in there with all the parts, numbers, prices, and places to buy of the parts that I used.

Re: ls1 motor mount adapter plates

I used the thicker ones on my 6.0/4l80e swap. They worked perfect and the enging sits high enough that the truck pan doesnt hang below the frame but maybe 1/4 inch. I am sure either one will work. The ones I used also left the engine in the stock location and didnt move it forward or back. I was also able to use the factory driveshaft with the yoke from the 4l80 and a conversion joint.
