What the widest tire I can fit on my stock '74 GMC wheels?

Hi Everybody,

I have a stock looking 1974 GMC 1/2 ton, long bed, 2wd. I still have the stock wheels on my truck and I am trying to get a little traction. 235/75/15 Bridgestone Desert Duellers (weak) is what I have now on my white painted steel wheels with GMC dog-dish hubcaps. I need a much wider tire and I am thinking about using a 275/60/15, but I need to know if they will fit my wheels?

Go to www.tirerack.com site. Choose your tire size and then go to specifications. It should state the min. wheel width that can be used. :)

yes they will fit fine. a 295/50 will fit, but look kinda funny.

i ran 31x11.50s on 15x7 rims.... if that helps. LOL
