What the widest tire I can fit on my stock '74 GMC wheels?
Hi Everybody,
I have a stock looking 1974 GMC 1/2 ton, long bed, 2wd. I still have the stock wheels on my truck and I am trying to get a little traction. 235/75/15 Bridgestone Desert Duellers (weak) is what I have now on my white painted steel wheels with GMC dog-dish hubcaps. I need a much wider tire and I am thinking about using a 275/60/15, but I need to know if they will fit my wheels? Thanks, Erik |
Go to www.tirerack.com site. Choose your tire size and then go to specifications. It should state the min. wheel width that can be used. :)

yes they will fit fine. a 295/50 will fit, but look kinda funny.
