Alternator Whine

Recently I am hearing a whine from my speakers like the sound of the motor when i start the truck up and press the gas. When I turn the lights on the speakers make a POP also. This has never happened before. Can My alternator be going.? I have a After market head unit and AMP but this has just started today. My alternator also has made a noise for a while any thoughts.

Re: Alternator Whine

Usually the whining and popping of the speakers is caused by power/ground wires too close to the rca cables or speaker wires to/from the amp. Have you worked under the dash anywhere and maybe moved some wires around and maybe caused it.
Basicly keep speaker/rca wires away from any power/ground source. If you hear a whining noise from the altenator that could mean altenator could be going out but don't think that would cause the noise in the speakers.
