houston powdercoating?

i have got prices from 850.00 dollars to 450.00 dollars to coat my frame, what is reasonable and why the four hundred dollar difference, someone know of a shop they can recommend to spray my frame and components?

What side of town are you on? There's a new shop that opened in Cypress, and they might be looking to get a good name out. I have not used them yet, but I will get their number if your interested...:)

I think the difference is in the prep work. I had my frame powdercoated and most of the work was in cleaning it and removing any rust/scale. Spraying the powder is the fast part. if you pay very little, I would wonder if the prep will be adequate. Also, ask TX Firefighter, he's in Texas and does powdercoating himself.

I would use Txfirefighter but not sure he does frames. Have you tried Wolves in Texas City? They always treated us well. Their are a lot of coaters in south Texas with all the industry. My favorite is ACE Powder Coating, (Fletcher Mitchell isthe guy).in Garland. He started coating way before most people ever heard about it or sold the equipment to do it. but that is kind of far to. They do exceptional flawfree work. Allied in Houston has some fair prices. I would try out Wolfes

Does he clean them before coating? If the finish is not 100% clean from oils or contaminants the coating will eventually fail.
