Re: My other project F*rd
I don't think you should let yourself be seen driving that FORD, like OMG.....So I'll just take it off your hands and we'll forget that we ever saw you with it, ok? LOL I love the car man, enjoy it.

Re: My other project F*rd
Sorry I quess I have left a bit of info out of this build. It hasnt been on top of priority list but will soon be. This is my 65 ford mustang fastback. Original straight six car with a transplanted 2001 mustang cobra 4.6 ltr. The motor was built by Saun Hyland out of Canada and is a well know 4.6 ltr guru. It is built for racing applications and it was oversided to a 5.0 liter. It will be pushing 400+ hp Naturally Aspirated. I have my wiring about situated and need to find a friend with a trailer and some free time to haul me to the exhaust shop to get this thing quitened down. Also some more the suspension is all new. Must II in front and a new 9 in in the rear. All suspension is controlled with air ride. Custom gauges and rear seat delete for spare tire. Fuel cell in trunk replace original tank. Vintage Air set up to keep things cool. I may have left a few details out.

That's a sweet project you have there...and with a Mod Cobra engine. Wish you had made a thread. Thanks for sharing. If I lived close enough I would beg you for a ride!!
As a kid I remember these fastbacks were beautiful when they first came out. My step dad tried to purchase one used. It was a 65 289 and a 3 speed. Black with red interior. We had it for a weekend and his financing didn't go thru. So he had to return it. Man! I loved sitting in the back seat of that car, all of 12 years old. I can remember the whole weekend like it was yesterday. It made a hell of a impression. Well you know were this is going....I guess I had to get my own.... This is a little older picture. I have since added TCP rack & pinion steering, adjustable tubular coil over front suspension. And the back sits approx. 2" lower too. Before I die, I hope to track race it. |

Stroker by the way you have a nice stang yourself. Sometimes I wish I didnt go so radical with it but I suppose it will be worth it when shes all done.
Nick, the new 5.0's werent even thought of when this project started and an 2001 motor wasnt that old. lol :) |

Got my exhaust.. At last and finally drove her tfor the first time. WOW is all I can say. The 5.0 cammer motor is a BEAST. to bad the 10 inch tires can plant this thing. May have to invest in some sand bags.

Re: My other project F*rd
Nice fastback man!!

Re: My other project F*rd
Thanks Cal, She is in the paint shop for final paint and will hopefully be out in a couple weeks. I will update soon. I just rebuilt the vent windows to fill in some free time till I get her back. Then a total rewire from ron francis. Also got to strip the interior and put in new carpet and build a console. So a lot of work still to go.

Re: My other project F*rd
Kick azz man! If I didn't just find a 354 for my 40 ford, I was thinking about installing a carb'd 4.6 and AOD in it. By the way, what satin black did you spray the car with before? Thanks Ryan.
|
Re: My other project F*rd
I am not sure what brand satin black. A shop sprayed it. I know it was a single stage satin. It has the uv protection and not just a cheap primer or non protected paint. I was planning on keeping the satin but after trying to keep it clean I decided to swap to a shiney paint job. The satin looked killer though.

Re: My other project F*rd
Nice Eleanor!

Re: My other project F*rd
Thanks, Torrey
But the fact is, it's not an Eleanor. It is basically a stock looking mustang with upgraded suspension and drive train |
