**Pagin Da' SWERVIN Dude**Hey Mike.....
On your Fan brackets you made.... About how long are the top and bottom metal/alum peices you cut to fit?
Also....is there anything going through the radiator at all to support them or just the 4 brackets for each fan??? Just dont want them bouncin back and forth on the radiator. :) Thanks! |

Sorry Dave. I've got a lot of crap going on right now, other than the site.
On my fans, the mounts you see came as a kit with my fans. It's just flat pieces of metal. But they are made to fasten to the fans with little clip sort of things, which won't rub on the radiator. My fans stay put and don't move at all. They are right up against the radiator. There is nothing else besides what you see, the 4 metels pieces per fan. The way the pieces hook to the fans is what help hold them in place. Here's the best pic I have of the way they mount. http://www.73-87.com/photos/engine/spalfans05.jpg |
Cool Mike! Thanks. I bought some steel peices just like that ...well I have to cut them down but it should work just fine. :)
If you get some time..could you measure the top ones and the bottom ones for me? Also...did you just fab up a piece of sheet metal to cover the top of the shroud?? I was gonna do just that. :) You hid the wiring good...dont see it in those pics. |
Dave, they are cut so it puts the fans in the center from top to bottom. Mine are 5", but yours may be different being different fans and the way they mount.
The cover for the radiator is a fab I guess. What is it? It's a piece of brushed stainless steel. It came from one of the medical buildings we built. In the bathrooms, they had these paper towel dispensers/trash bin combintion things which mounted in the walls. They came with extensions which you could add to them to furr them out if needed. We didn't use them, so I took one home with me. :) I cut it to fit the radiator and core, which before I forget, stainless is a biotch to cut. Oh, on the wiring, it's in the convoluted tubing you can see at the bottom. It runs across the bottom of the core, right in front of the radiator. |
Cool beans.....thanks for the info.
Now I just need to find an Abandonded bathroom!! lol Truck stop here I come!! haha j/k |
Dave,
I'll check and see if I have any of it left. If I do, I'll send you a piece. I think it's all gone though. But, I may be able to get ahold of another one. I'll let you know tomorrow. |
Cool Thanks Mike! :)
