4x4 spring questions
 

I have 1/2 ton 4x4 but i need it to tow a lot more so i got a rear spring system from a 1 ton suburban but heres the problem. will my 1/2 ton rear springs fit the front (old ones will be to low and are worn out).

if not what is the difference in size from point to point. if i cant i will be making my own front springs (have a few trash truck springs) i know i can make them work by taking all the old springs out and building my own set.

There were no 1ton Suburbans, so I'll assume it was 3/4ton. The rear springs should be 56", your stock ones are 52". You would just need to move the rearmost hangers back on the frame 4 inches.

You can use your stock rears on the front, but...

You will gain 3 or 4 inches in height.
You will need to move/build/buy front spring hangers.
Might have to relocate the shackle mounts in the frame.
Need longer shocks.
Convert to crossover steering which involves another list of things to do/buy.

The suspension is not the only issue. No matter what you end-up doing to "hold up" the weight, you still have to stop it. You need to concentrate on brakes as much or more than springs.

this is very true and i tend to do so but only running 33 inch tires under the truck but for some reason they rub most like front springs ar very worn out.

and as for what USSkoval said swapping rear springs can be done and very easily just doing the front wont be

as for front spring what if i just built springs, such as taking the front spring apart and building from that leaving the stock hangers alone kinda like a helper spring but in all honesty just adding more leafs
