Dash gauges on 84 C-10

I have an 84 C-10, problem is, majority the gauges dont work. The Oil/Temp/Volt, doesnt work, and the fuel gauge only reads up to a quarter tank when full. Of course, the speedo wobbles and squeeks, that needs to be replaced for sure. Replaced sending units... and nothing... what are the odds that it might me the circuit board behind the dash?. and does that have anything to do with it?. Would kindly take some expertise advise... Thanx!!! :help:

probably not the printed circuit, unless it is cut up or something weird. probably just the resistor right behind the gauge. you used to be able to go to a parts store and pic up a "fix a gauge". all it was was a resistor. you would flip the stock resistor and attach the new one.

if your sending units were correct and working i would check your resistors behind the gauges.

How well can you see them when seated? I have thought about doing this but have raised my seat by about 2" and the gauges look like they are already pointing down. With me sitting higher i have wondered if i would be able to read them ok.

I think they look pointed down because of the angle of the picture..
Check out www.73-87.com. There are two different write ups on putting Autometer gauges in the original locations, one on top (as I showed above) and one behind. The write up with them behind the gauge panel for some reason the pictures aren't working, but you might be able to contact the webmaster (a member here) and see if he has those.

Nevermind, found the pics...

And a straight on shot of the ones I posted earlier.

Those are actually the high beam, brake, and choke indicator lights.

I like the top one too. That is exactly what I'm looking for. I could not find any area at the web site you posted for the write up.

Nevermind, it looks like it was just down when I looked the first time. It is working now.

Yeah good guess bro, it must be the PCB, maybe it has broken components on it and need to be replaced. fixing PCB needs an electronic specialist. Just bring your PCB on the electronic shop.
