Okay, I guess it is time to get this show on the road.

I am building this truck to be my daily driver. I need to try to keep the budget as under control as possible, but I have a hard time letting things be sometimes, ya know?

First thing I had to do was get her in the garage, got kind of exciting when the already poor brakes went to the floor. I almost remodeled our bedroom closet but got her stopped in time.;)

After a little frame cleaning, and a whole lot of reading here, I cut the frame. Thanks to everyone that posted on how they did this. I can't tell you how much I learned.

this is mike from siloam springs ar , did you buy this truck from sellers equip here in town ?? it looks like the same one, anyway love the truck and if you are going to sell the air breather i would like to buy it ??

Actually, I bought the truck in Pittsburgh, KS but when I read the title it said Eureka Springs, AR. I thought it was weird that I drove 6 hours to buy a truck that was originally only 11 miles from my house.:lol:

I sold the entire motor to a buddy, but I will check on the breather for you because he may have other plans for it,

Thanks for the compliment, I intend to stay with the wood bed if I can fit it in the budget. I don't know how practical if will be for a DD but it is sooo good looking.:metal:

be careful with your seatbelt buckles i had no idea when i was younger that the 67 buckles were a one year only thing, i lost them some time over the years and they were expensive to replace

I already posted this in another thread but I picked up a 2005 Sub for $1000.00

It has a 6.0L with the 4L80e, has all the wires and computers, should make for a fun ride. Maybe I will be able to part out the remainder to cover the cost of buying the vehicle. Now that would be a blessing.

I had a buddy that owed me a favor. I was able to get the frontend, rearend (3.42) and the brake setup out of a 1991 Sub he was ready to crush.

Amazing that it bolts up this closely, two holes to drill and two that need some small widening.

cool, keep at it. What was the reasoning on not painting the LCA's with the rest of it? Just going to deal with them later?

Actually the only thing painted is just the top of the frontend. I wanted to make sure the Rustoleum paint was gonna make me happy. I know its not POR-15 or anything close, but it ended up looking nice. I think the best thing about it will be the ability for easy touch up work. IMHO

that crossmember looks like it will give you a little more ground clearance , is that correct or does it hang down as low as the original ???

I painted my frame with hammered finish rustoleum. Was really happy with how well it covered but I also sanded down and primed everything as well. Like you said, my thinking is that it's a lot easier to touch up spray paint than powdercoat ;)

It is actually jacked up in the pic. I may be wrong but I think the clearance may be a little higher but should be close to stock.

Well, I think your build looks great, so if that is rustoleum, I think I will be very happy.
