ls swap engine mounts ?

Buying things for my upcoming ls swap. What engine mount adapters did you use? I want to use the truck manifolds and have room for the AC Compressor without to much trouble. I like Ece's but if I could get a forty dollar set off ebay that would be great! I know it would be cheaper to make them, but dont have the equipment for that. :metal:

Interested in knowing the magic combo also! If I remember correctly, the ECE mounts and POL frame mounts are the setup to use, but I am not 100% sure. I'm sure someone else knows... :smoke:

1st of all, you wont be able to use the LSx compressor unless you are planning on cutting the frame some. You can use Kwickperformances high mount for a Sanden compressor.

Mounts: If it were me, I would spend the $ on ECE mounts, from what I understand you can use stock Trailblazer SS manifolds with them, otherwise you will need to use POL (http://www.performanceonline.com/sto...cat=455&page=1) mounts, this is what I used, they work really well putting the motor up about 1" so headers will fit, but the stock manifolds wont and fbody mounts wont either. Hope this helps.

I used the POL stand/mounts and then made my own adapter plates to go from the sbc 3 bolts to the genIII 4 bolt patern

The pol mounts move the motor forward and up. I tried to keep my motor in the stock 6 cyl location for balance, but the pol mounts put the motor a d trans up too high, the 4l60e hits the tunnel.

I am using stock frame pads and prothane versions of the 6 cyl mounts, with cheap steel adapter plates from summit.

I would like to run the 4l60e also. Is the ece kit complete or do you still have to order the adapters like with the pol setup?

Re: ls swap engine mounts ?

I ended up using a high hump tranny cover with mine. I'm not 100% sure if I would have had to. When I set my cab on, the tranny was hitting the low tranny hump area, so I cut it out, then I realized the drive shaft was also hitting the cab, so I ended up moving the tail of the transmission down.

ECE kit is complete...I think (well, minus the LSx mounting bolts). Its what I bought for my swap.
