are all ashtrays interchangeable? 69,70,71...

my question is will a 70 ashtray and bracket fit a 72 dash?
i know the 70 tray is ball bearing and 72 is slider but are they interchangable?
frame, ashtray, or both?

I can't remember the breakdown, but there's 3 styles. If you remove the whole assembly, to include the frame that the ash tray slides in, then they will interchange. I have a slider style in my 70, which used to be a bearing style.
