Pitting on chrome bumper Question

Can this be minimized > Is there a product or a 3m pad or something that will smooth this out without scratching it . NOt really noticeable from a distance , but is when you get close . Have an aftermarket rear bumper on now , but have never liked the shape . Thought I would put the stock one back on if Ican get it looking better.

There really not much that can be done once chrome starts letting go. You can use chrome polish or buff it with compound, but thats about it.

Re: Pitting on chrome bumper Question

Steel wool is good for removing surface stuff, but if the pitting is from rust underneath the chrome, not much you can do about it honestly. 00 or 000 steel wool is what we use when we final detail a car after repairs. It'll make exhaust tips shine like new and it really cleans up real chrome, no matter how many bugs and such are on it. Also works great on glass, especially when removing overspray.
