hooking up a kick down cable
 

I have a 1964 6 cyl chevy engine with a 1974 350th but I don't have the knowledge how to hook up the kick down cable. Speedway Motors said that they don't have the adapters. Any ideas or pictures would sure help.

You may have to build a bracket and modify the linkage.
The engine in my 48 came out of a 70 something with a turbo 350 on it. I'll try to see if my linkage is different than yours and has something that will work to work the cable.

Good looking motor mounts by the way.

You may need to use a aftermarket cable. When the throttle is wide open the kickdown should be pulled all the way out.

Thanks for the replys. I have the cable length to make it work. I guess I just have get a detent bracket and go from there. That's the thing about us Americans we have ingenuity.

Since the TH350 didn't start until 1969, all the factory installs will have a Monojet instead of the Model B carb like you have. I don't think the linkage is much different between the two carbs though, so look for a donor vehicle in the 69-74 range. The engine changed to an integral manifold around 1975, and I don't know if the linkage on those is the same.

I don't think you are very likely to find an aftermarket cable bracket for the 6 cylinder because of less rodding interest in those engines as compared with the V-8s. However, it couldn't hurt to ask the inline specialty vendors like Patrick's or Langdon's
