Buddies truck....
3 Attachment(s)
My buddy that has the paint/body shop where my big window swap is being done is wrapping up the build-up of his 75. It's a 'budget' build using parts from various OE trucks that were hauled to the wrecking yard by his future SIL. The cab is the only OE piece from his original truck.... the front fenders, each door, hood, grille, bumpers, bed, seat (you get the idea) are all from different trucks.
I told him to get personalized plates that say MUTT T T . . ..... |
Re: Buddies truck....
Very nice! Love the wheels/tires/drop.
Love the whole truck actually! :D |
Re: Buddies truck....
It looks mean as hell! Nicely done, jaw dropping to say the least!

Re: Buddies truck....
Nithing wrong with a junkyard dog when it comes out like that.

Re: Buddies truck....
He plans to drive the wee out of it (thus the 18/20 combo Ken). I tried getting him to do 20's all around but he said he really liked how my como looked & was dead set on that (plus he liked the fact that I didn't have to modify the front inner wheel wells w/the 18's).
It's got a late model 383 Vortec stroker w/GM serp set-up too. The interior should be equally as nice as his 'in-house' guy has done some decent stuff. The interior color is a dark peanutbutter-ish tan/brown. The dash is painted & cleared w/a product called 'soft-touch' (it almost feels like it's fabric). |
Re: Buddies truck....
I just left the shop & this SOB looks gooooooooooooood! They screwed him on the wheel BSing in the rear but are getting him some new wheels w/the correct BS (what I told him to use & what he paid for).
I also found out it's not a 383.... It's a fresh 350 w/forged internals (the builder was planning to juice the motor) w/something close to a ZZ4/GM Hot cam inside. |
Re: Buddies truck....
I'll just bet he won't spend a dime on a MUTT TT license plate

Re: Buddies truck....
Beautiful truck. I love a Black dropped square. But I'm not partial or anything.;)
|
Re: Buddies truck....
Really NICE.
Post more pics when it's all back together! Who's he buying his TTII's from? |
Re: Buddies truck....
He got them through Discount Tire.

Re: Buddies truck....
Very nice. Thanks for sharing that one scoti. Looks like it turned out well.
|
Re: Buddies truck....
I told him I started a thread on it & he said he was signing up. Maybe he'll chime in....
|
Re: Buddies truck....
Truck looks really good. Any of those parts trucks still laying around?
|
Re: Buddies truck....
Looks nice Scoti, what do you mean when you say that your friend liked that he didn't need to modify the inner wheel well? Modification need when running 20's all around?

I wish we had quality body shops here in MO that wanted to work on custom stuff. Keep us posted on your truck progress. What else do you have planned for it? You gonna run all the side trim? |
Re: Buddies truck....
Likey! Its projects like this, that keep me broke, and the imagination rolling!

TTT w/a new pic of the 'humble' starting point . . .....
|
Re: Buddies truck....
That's pretty humble.....

Re: Buddies truck....
I left the shop earlier tonight & this thing turned out SWEET!
The interior is extremely well done & compliments the truck. The stereo & insulation are done right. It's quiet & has great sound quality. The tailgate & gas door were recently painted & hung so the entire body was finally washed/buffed (today). The wheel opening trim is installed w/some fresh 'bling' added to the bed (chrome bed bolts & tailgate straps. I'll get back out there sometime this week w/my camera for some 'it's done' pics. It might even see some cruise time by the end of the week after an alignment. :metal: |
Re: Buddies truck....
